Parakeets Performance Workshop
This weekly workshop has been running in East London since November 2024. The sessions help SEND adults develop performing skills using community music and improvisation exercises. Through music and drama games participants develop skills including singing. dancing, instrument playing and drama. A safe space is provided for people to explore their creativity in a non judgemental atmosphere. Many people attend with carers who are encouraged to participate too. As a group we work towards staged performances which take place in the wider community. All levels of ability are accommodated for and activities are designed to meet the needs of all. The building is in a beautiful area beside a conservation park and has excellent disabled facilities as well as free parking.

Training
We are all community music practitioners alongside running Sounds Better CIC, so understand the training needs, the challenges, and the techniques that are most effective in the room better than anyone.
Volunteer
Depending on the role, we can offer training in facilitation, experience in working with people with long term health conditions and learning disability and a way to connect with your local community more.
